This book traces the coaching history of the high school swimming and diving program at Alfred-Almond Central School (New York State Section 5) 1958-2011. This is a compelling story of a small high school located within Appalachia, located in one of the poorest per capita counties in New York State. So small that for years it was the smallest high school with a pool competing within its section.
It is a story of continuity, connectivity and competition as seen through the eyes of, and told by, its author; a lawyer, teacher and coach. The book provides the outline for teaching high school sports management and creating a high school coaching program seeking to establish itself over generations.
